"You know me inside and out, you hold me together, you never fail to stand me tall in your presence so I can look you in the eye." -Psalm 41:12 (MSG)
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to look God in the eyes? What would you see? What would you feel? Until that glorious day arrives, when we see him face-to-face, it's something to think about.

The verb look can also be translated into the verb gaze.
Gaze:
Gaze:
(v) to fix the eyes and look earnestly; to stare.
(n) a fixed look; a look of eagerness, wonder, or admiration.
In Psalm 41 it says, "You never fail to stand me tall in your presence so I can look you in the eye." What does this mean? In other translations it reads, "In my integrity you uphold me and set me in your presence forever." This verse captivates me. God knows us inside and out, but yet he never fails to meet with us. In the presence of God, we look him straight in the eyes through the spiritual realm. The bible says to worship in spirit and in truth. With our praise we not only magnify the name of Jesus, but in doing so, it allows us to see him for who he truly is. You know that cheesy phrase, "The eyes are the window to the soul?" In this case, your soul is who you are. The only way you'll be able to see God for who he is, is by gazing into his eyes. As you look into the eyes of your savior, you see his extravagant love. You see grace abounding, and mercy overflowing. You see compassion, joy, hope, and peace. The fullness of God and his goodness is all being seen when you look earnestly into his eyes. Earnestly looking for God means to be in ardent pursuit of him. With that being said, the only way for us to look into the eyes of our Creator is through ardent pursuit of him by the exaltation of his name through worship. Worship is more than just a song, it's a lifestyle. You live every day gazing into the eyes of Christ by living a life full of sacrifices of praise. As we lift his name higher and higher, our storms and trials become smaller and smaller. The more intently we seek him, the more rewarding it is. God said, "I am a rewarder of those who diligently seek me." The focus of our lives should be to constantly gaze and seek his face. Look into his eyes.
